Werner lived through extraordinary times under the Nazis and Communists and he wanted his life’s experiences to be recorded for posterity. Werner had many colorful conversations with his wife Sandy and about his life. He requested that she preserve these many memories in writing for generations to come. It is in honoring his request that this biography was written.

Werner was a most colorful character who will not soon be forgotten. He will be sadly missed by many at Wil Mar and St. Anne’s nursing homes who knew and loved him.
